Hey there 2024... allow me to re-introduce myself, and what I am hoping to do in the New Year!

Hey there folks!

2023 is coming to a close, and it's a perfect time to sit and think about what we hope to call in for this year to come. That is what I am doing at least, so I thought I would take a moment to re-introduce myself to you all out there on the worldwide web, and invite you all to reply and share the same with me. Please do!

In 2024, I intend to share more about the work I do with love as a real estate broker in this beautiful land of New Mexico through social media and by, yep, creating a blog.

BLOG? yep.

It's kind of vintage now, and honestly just a great way to discipline yourself to write, make something a little chewier than a post for folks to enjoy and share.

So much of what I do in real estate, with my values of stewardship or care for people and the planet, is worthy of more explanation than 150 characters... or a little box, so I am excited to embrace a new medium. I will still be posting on Facebook and Instagram, too, but the blog is a NEW addition. Yee haw! I hope you will follow along, as I share with you all what is in my heart and mind, and how I rise to embrace and respond to the unique opportunities to help others and consider our impact on our communities and the land in my daily work as a broker.

And for that intro I promised...

My name is Adrienne Harvitz, and I am an Associate Broker at Santa Fe Properties, with a heart for the people, cultures, nature and land of New Mexico.

I have lived in Santa Fe for over 20 years, originally moving here from the Pacific Northwest to study Sustainability & Multimedia Communications at the College of Santa Fe; I envisioned becoming something like the next crocodile hunter… prairie dog hunter, if you will. Well, that did not happen, but I did end up putting down roots in the community, raising a family, expanding my studies in sustainability to include agriculture, nutrition, health and wellness, and paving my own career path through the non-profit, media production, and education sectors.

Though I have done many things in my professional life, my core values stayed consistent through it all: stewardship of people and the planet. I continue honoring and applying these values today in my work in real estate and interior architecture in many ways. Follow me online in the year ahead to learn more, I will be writing short pieces like case studies and sharing interesting things I encounter or learn about throughout my work each week!

Although versed in all areas of real estate, I specialize in rural real estate and works listings mostly in outlying areas north of Santa Fe.  I am uniquely qualified and interested in working with clients who want to incorporate “sustainable” or “regenerative” principles into the development and care of their homes and land. I look forward to sharing more about this on the blog, like I said.

Some of the projects I am looking forward to learning about & helping clients with include:

  • Renewable energy home renovations, i.e. rainwater and solar panels installations

  • Biophillic design home renovations, modifying a home to enhance &integrate the natural environment - this can include adding a sun rooms or large windows or French doors out to a garden, enhancing the plants and soil in the outdoor space to create habitat, pollinator food and beauty, and more!

  • Conservation easements, helping clients learn more about or begin the process of creating a conservation easement on their land, including outlining allowed development, restraints on development, finding an overseeing conservation organization, applying tax credits, changes to property value, and more!

  • Modular & prefabricated housing, for many people who want to buy land and build on site, prefab units can be a time and budget saver, with great design benefits. I am in the process of researching manufacturers, and so excited to share with clients!

  • Alternative lending for farm and ranch properties, many aspiring agrarians face barriers to access in the form of funding; I am eager to explore and share about alternative structures for lending to farmers, including cooperative ownership and lease to own investors!

  • whatever other awesome opportunities come my way!

Wanna learn more? Follow my blog in 2024!!!

Questions, stories, comments, concerns? Please do share! I would love to hear from and engage with you! Cheers to more collaboration, creativity and opportunities for thriving in the year ahead :)

PS... in case you were curious about who I am outside of the professional realm... I am first and foremost an involved mama to two highly creative kids and several charming pets, the care and companionship of whom delightfully consumes the bulk of my time and energy. I also enjoy being in nature (hiking, wildcrafting, camping, etc.), spending time and helping out on local farms and ranches, reading, cooking, yoga, occasional outings to arts and culture events, and an array of crafts all done from the quiet pleasure of my home. I am a pretty simple gal, and ok with that :)
